  • Thank you North County Fire

    Updated May 3, 2012

We are fortunate to have a forward-looking fire department right here in town. Some years ago, the North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) invented a backup radio system to carry emergency communications if and when the County’s 800 MHz trunking system failed. And fail it did during the countywide power outage on September 8, 2011. NCFPD’s backup radio system worked flawlessly during that incident and carried a heavy load. They especially need donations of money - for rent, food, litter, medicine, vet bills, paper towels, trash can liners, bleach, Clorox wipes, and spe...

The monies collected during the campaigns go to help local needy vets and their families. Part of the monies help support our national orphanage. The reason I am giving my last thank you is that it appears I am losing the war against esophageal cancer. The average expected lifespan of a person with this aggressive cance... Full story
