    Updated Jul 14, 2011

On behalf of the Fallbrook Beautification Alliance board and advisory committee, we sincerely thank those of you who supported our annual July 4 fundraiser/Independence Day celebration. • Americans need to do their research

    Updated Jul 14, 2011

I am appalled and amazed by the millions of Americans lacking in knowledge who voted for Barack Obama for President. How can anyone with a lick of horse sense not do background research about one’s doctor, dentist, lawyer or financial advisor? It’s just common sense, folks. I researched this man early in his campaign and became alarmed at the lack of information about him; such as, where was he actually born to be eligible to run for president, which he is not. Read “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” by Jerome Corsi. This is a...

  • Re: Say No to Planned Parenthood [Letter, Village News, 6/23/11]

    Updated Jul 14, 2011

Last month, Mr. Lowery wrote a letter regarding Planned Parenthood that needs a response. First, Planned Parenthood does not advocate abortion anymore than a doctor advocates amputation. Second, ever since 1976 the Hyde rider has been used to exclude abortion funding from federal appropriations to prevent low-income women from receiving abortions. In other words, no federal funds awarded to Planned Parenthood can be used for abortions. Only private or state funds may be used. Third, Lowery said that Planned Parenthood is a...

  • Thank you from the Grand Tradition

    Updated Jul 14, 2011

To the residents of Fallbrook: Year after year we read in the papers and see on the news that the after effects of July 4th celebrations are less than desirable and show a side of humanity that can only be described as tragic. Some communities have discontinued this American tradition altogether due to crime, drunken brawls, excessive trash cleanup and costs. Not in Fallbrook! I must take a few moments to thank the residents of Fallbrook for making this annual event something that the entire community should and can be proud...

  • Fallbrook's blue and gold

    Updated Jul 14, 2011

As a seven year resident of our quaint little community, I would like to focus on the extremely talented and positive young men and women of Fallbrook instead of the teens that seem to capture the headlines by assaulting Sheriff Deputies and stabbing unknown victims at our local restaurants. From June 27 to July 5, the community of Fallbrook was well represented at the San Diego County Fair by the young men and women of the Fallbrook FFA Chapter. These young folks worked tirelessly to answer numerous questions and show the... Full story

  • Keep children's summertime snacks filled with healthy choices

    Updated Jul 14, 2011

SAN DIEGO COUNTY - The lazy days of summer can often result in a too-casual, graze-all-day approach to eating. Connie Evers, a registered dietitian, founder of NutritionForKids.com and author of “How to Teach Nutrition to Kids,” has developed some simple tips for p... Full story
