  • You do deserve the success you've earned

    American Counseling Association|Updated Jul 19, 2019

It's a feeling that affects both men and women. You've achieved success at work, with a community organization, or just within your family, and yet you don't feel you've really earned that achievement. You may think that your accomplishments come from luck or good timing rather than any real talent and hard work on your part. You may feel like a fraud, not really capable of the tasks facing you. Having these thoughts is fairly common. They're manifestations of self-doubt and a lack of self-confidence, and there's even a...

  • Real Estate Round-Up: Dog Days of Summer

Kim Murphy, Murphy & Murphy Southern California Realty|Updated Jul 19, 2019

Here we are, once again, in the dog days of summer. For many of us, this means a time to relax and reconnect with our families and friends, maybe travel or take on a new project. I always thought the term referred to the way my two dogs get to spend all their days, relaxing in the sun and simply chilling, waiting for Chris or me to come home and play with them. The term, however, refers to the period when our Sun occupies the same region as Sirius, the brightest star in the... Full story

    Updated Jul 19, 2019

Supervisor Jim Desmond San Diego County 5th District For the past months, myself along with many North and East County leaders have been reminding those in downtown that there’s more to San Diego than the Urban Core. We’ve been fighting for San Diegans all throughout the County, trying to maintain SANDAG’s promise to the voters. As you know, voters passed a half-cent sales tax in 2004, in exchange for upgrades to and expansion of the I-5, I-8, I-15, SR 52, SR 67, SR 78 and various other freeways. SANDAG has now tried to sh... Full story

  • We must protect American horses from slaughter

    Updated Jul 19, 2019

Our country was founded with horses. Pioneers, ranchers and farmers depended on horses for their survival and prosperity. Family and therapy horses also have enriched our lives. More than 92% are young and healthy, as confirmed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. These horses are cruelly shipped thousands of miles across our borders to be... Full story

  • Good job, Graybill

    Updated Jul 19, 2019

I was coasting down Main Street Friday, July 5, around midday on my bike past the Angel Shop like I have done a thousand times before. I rolled over and sat up. A couple of men from the parking lot immediately came over to help me. One had paramedic training maybe; he started firing questions. Do you feel dizzy? Have a heart c... Full story
