If this year’s Del Mar Thoroughbred Club meet, which begins July 21, is like last year’s Del Mar meet for Peter Miller, the San Luis Rey Downs trainer can expect success. Miller’s 58 starts at Del Mar in 2009 produced 10 wins, eight second-place finishes, and six third-place results and accumulated $331,632 in earnings. Although Dave Heid retired as a Fallbrook High School coach at the end of the Spring 2010 CIF season, he not only participated in the Rick Wiland Memorial Golf Tournament held June 15 at San Luis Rey Downs but also won the tournament. Taras Ulrik Rohde, 29, passed unexpectedly Saturday, July, 10, 2010 in Phoenix, Ariz. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Marjaana Rohde; and grandfather, Carl Rohde, who have been residents of Fallbrook for over 30 years.
