    The San Diego County Fair's gems, minerals, and jewelry exhibit has a competitive class called One Carving Beginner, Amateur, and Fallbrook carvers took the top two places in that category. Joyce O'Connell received first place and Meline Giannini had the second-place carving. "We were happy to be recognized," O'Connell said. O'Connell called her carving "Pacaderma."     SACRAMENTO – California residents have saved more than $160 million on their prescriptions over the past five years by using the Coast2Coast Rx Card. This cost-savings program allows all California residents – regardless of income, age or health status – to save on the costs of their medications.   • Camp Pendleton brush fire 92 percent contained

    CAMP PENDLETON (CNS) – A brush fire burning in the northern reaches of Camp Pendleton was 92 percent contained this morning. About 1,245 open acres have been blackened since the blaze ignited off Roblar and Case Springs roads Thursday afternoon, according to military andstate fire officials. No structures have been threatened.
