On June 14, the state’s Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery sent an electronic mail message to county Department of Public Works director Rich Crompton that CalRecycle will fund a grant for the cleanup of the Fallbrook 1C burn site off of Stone Post Way. The grant from CalRecycle’s Solid Waste Disposal Trust Fund is for $700,690. The total estimated cost of the cleanup is $1,727,669. The San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board voted to update the general orders and the monitoring and reporting programs for closed, abandoned, or otherwise inactive landfills and burn sites.
