Christen Cavanaugh suffered traumatic injuries Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 8:38 pm when she was struck by a vehicle in the 1200 block of Fallbrook Street near the Community Center. Fallbrook Street was closed from both directions while emergency services and first responders provided advanced life support. A man was reported to be a possible jumper from the Lilac Bridge in Bonsall. The Deer Springs Fire Department responded, as well as the Sheriff and CHP. To manage the situation and ensure public safety, a SIG Alert was issued for the southbound side of Interstate 15 (I-15). On Sunday, August 4, at 6:11 pm, a call of an apartment fire was called in and responded to by North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD). The call came in from the 1200 block of Alturas Rd in Fallbrook. NCFPD PIO Capt. Choi said, "Three individuals were assessed and released."
