On August 7th at 8:47 pm, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the NCFPD in the recovery of a missing person found in the Santa Margarita River in the 2500 block of North Stage Coach Lane. A body had been found in the river and SDSO requested help retrieving him out of the water. The call was upgraded to a full water rescue response when it was discovered that the person was still alive. BONSALL - A person escaped uninjured today after a pickup truck went off Old Highway 395 on its side 20 feet down an embankment and hit a tree, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash involving a white Ford pickup was reported at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, according to a CHP incident log. After the crash, someone in the pickup had to crawl out of the wreckage through the driver's side window because the doors wouldn't open, the CHP said. The person was not injured. SAN DIEGO - A 20-year-old orca that was born and lived at SeaWorld has died of an infection, the marine park announced today. Nakai died Thursday night despite ``aggressive therapeutic and diagnostic efforts'' to treat the whale's infection, a statement said. At 3 pm today, Friday, August 5, there was an accident on East Mission at Santa Margarita Road. CHP reported a sedan vs. a motorcycle. The accident was affecting traffic with debris in the eastbound lanes. It appears the small sedan was hit as it was coming out of the Shell gas station driveway and the motorcycle hit the side of the vehicle at approximately 25 mph.
