On July 26 about 10 p.m., I fell and cut my face with two deep lacerations on my lips and another on my cheek. I went to the Fallbrook Hospital ER. I was bleeding badly; they put me in a cubicle so as not to frighten the children. No one came to triage me. I was told people are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. After two hours, I was still bleeding badly and I began crying in pain. Instead of helping me, the triage nurse called the police who told me I was disturbing the other patients. Shortly after that, the securi...
Live Oak Elementary has been transformed into an outdoor learning space, complete with gardens that grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and an outdoor instructional area for reading, math and science lessons. This outdoor classroom space is allowing us to do that, but we need help. We need volunteers to encourage and share the experience. School gardens can provide an environment in... Full story
Lee Racey (Letters, Village News, 8/2/12) repeats his mantra that the one-percenters pay 40 percent of federal income taxes. Accordingly, I repeat: that says nothing about whether they, or the rest of the wealthy, paid their proportionate share. Between Bush’s tax cuts and tax loopholes for the wealthy, I say they have not. Bush’s war-time tax cuts were unconscionable. If federal revenue couldn’t cover the costs of his wars and infrastructure maintenance, where’d the money come from to finance the tax cuts? Here are comment...
The weekend before Memorial Day someone damaged my car while I was inside Costco shopping. My insurance company recommended Neiman’s Collision Center. I took my car there and the repairs were done. I had to wait three weeks to return it for the final wax coat. In that time, I managed to scratch their newly completed work. Embarrassed, I had to call and cancel the appointment for the wax and took the car there for an estimate to repair what I had done. The kind people there said they would order touch up paint, and that t...

A very nice lady greeted me and made me comfortable while explaining the treatment. It was an amazing transformation and experience! Besides being so relaxed, my face had a whole new, smooth, bab...
