This is an open letter to Travis Clausnitzer and anyone else who may be suffering from Crohn’s disease. Yes, it’s terrible, but it doesn’t have to be so bad. It can be handled and you can avoid the pain, medications and all too possible future surgeries. My father had Crohn’s; I have Crohn’s. Please do yourself and your son a very great favor and learn about The Specific Carbohydrate Diet. There is info available online under that title and also under the title of the book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle, by Elaine Gottschal...

  • I have hope

    Updated Aug 16, 2012

What playbook is John Terrell reading from? To suggest that George Soros champions democracy is delusional. And to suggest that Reagan did not reduce the tax burden is again a misreading of the overall restructuring he achieved. Tax revenue did increase because of the improvement in the economy and the expansion of the tax base. He energized the business community by not only reducing tax rates but also regulations. The evidence is there for all to see. Something our current President should try. And to disparage austerity fo...

  • Think twice about renting a room out

    Updated Aug 16, 2012

Here’s a little word of advice for anyone thinking of renting a room in their home. A friend of mine did so and after the first month the tenant became very abusive and terrorized my friend who had to have the sheriffs come out; they recognized the name. After a day in court, they came and escorted the tenant out of the home. It turned out that she had a record; unfortunately my friend did not check her out as she was recommended to her by a person who attended the same church. Be careful who you trust! • Gardens will be a source of pride

    Updated Aug 16, 2012

Jerri Patchett pulled me aside months ago and said “Don McDougal is getting ready to put Fallbrook on the map in a whole new way.” Jerri is such a fan of all things Fallbrook that I didn’t suspect that she was understating what McDougal was up to. They have created a new destination for people all over Southern California that leaves visitors struggling to find strong enough superlatives. I visited the stunning new gardens Sunday and they were teeming with visitors who were simply blown away. We were all walking around stunn...

  • The Olympics

    Updated Aug 16, 2012

What a wonderful lesson in individual endeavor; America my country! Were we to follow into the collectivist, socialist mind-set of the Obama under-achievers, we would fall in line behind Communist China and their aging brothers, the Communist (Putin) Russians. Hey! My country; do or die! Congratulations America! Vernon Tritchka...

Hernandez then placed swords into the basket, although Morgan escaped injury. “No harm to the animals,” Morgan said. That also included the animals Herna...

  • HELP! is as close to the real deal as possible

    Updated Aug 16, 2012

Given the number of tribute bands I have been listening to lately, it is becoming easier and easier to rank them in order of most authentic to the music they are trying to replicate. After listening to HELP!, which played July 21 in Pala Casino’s Infinity Showroom, it has now grabbed my number one spot for Beatles tribute bands. First off, I must recognize the fact that Pala’s sound system in Infinity is superior, so couple that with great music and vocals, and you’ve got t...
