  • Mr. Jordan and Mr. Batchelor,

    Updated Aug 22, 2018

Thank you for your reaction to last week's press release submitted to us. You are absolutely right. We were so focused on news coverage and fires that less time was spent editing and it was a poor decision to run that press release on the front page, because it editorialized within the press release. One of the things we've prided ourselves on is not editorializing in our stories and not putting editorial pieces on the front page, which is a problem nationwide right now. We have reviewed our systems and policies this week to... Full story

  • Where are our kitties?

    Updated Aug 22, 2018
    1

I am writing, hoping a sponsor or donor of the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary reads this and could find out and let us know what that "charitable" organization has done with our four mother cats. Around the first of June, Janet Lecore offered to take the kittens as sanctuary inventory. She also proposed to take our adult cats to the vet to be neutered at below cost. During the next two days, Janet and her crew picked up most of the kittens and "Simba" and "Yackie," both solid black. Later, I delivered "Wacky" and "Princess" to... Full story

    Updated Aug 17, 2018

As part of a loose group of Christian people here in Fallbrook who help those who are homeless, I need to share an observation concerning a 77-year-old lady named Cody. After the ranch changed hands, she retired and moved here to Fallbrook and began her wait for HUD housing while living in her camper truck. Having a heart for this friendly village, she started... Full story

Lifted from the pages of Victor Hugo's acclaimed novel (ca 1831) about a deformed man and his love for a beautiful gypsy woman, the classic tale of bittersweet romance is brought to life by the players at the Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista. "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is riveting. Masterfully staged and passionately directed by Steven Glaudini, this is this se... Full story
