    A group of residents has started a campaign to bring fireworks and an Independence Day celebration back to Fallbrook. Fallbrook hasn't had fireworks or an official Fourth of July party the past two years. The Grand Tradition hosted an Independence Day celebration and fireworks from 2004-2016 but decided in 2017 to halt the pyrotechnics due to safety concerns for nearby housing.     I note that the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce donated a check to the Fallbrook Pregnancy Resource Center. According to the latter's website, the FPRC is a religious organization. Since when is our chamber of commerce donating money to religious organizations? I would think that any money raised from chamber events would go to nonprofits that benefit all members of our community, no matter what affiliation or non-affiliation.     Louie Eugene Neece passed away peacefully after a short illness Aug. 15 at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. Neece and Floy Archer, his brother James and sister Floy and former wife Louise. He is survived by wife Bonnie, son Jerry Neece and daughter Karen Brooks.     Joseph Fletcher Littell died peacefully at his home in Fallbrook, Calif. on Aug. 14, 2018. Joseph was born Sept. 19, 1924 in Hankow (now Wuhan) China. The son of Bishop Samuel Harrington Littell and Evelyn Tabor Littell, Joe was the seventh of eight children. The family moved to Hawaii in 1930, and Joe grew up in Hawaii and Delaware.
