The Fallbrook 4-H has begun their plans for a new year. During the off-season, many members of Fallbrook 4-H have attended fairs with their animals and conferences. ESCONDIDO — This year, the San Diego County Farm Bureau (SDCFB) awarded $17,500 in varying amounts to 16 San Diego County residents who are enrolled in agricultural studies at a two-year or four-year college. On Saturday, August 18, approximately 80 youth ages 12 through 18 from Fallbrook, Bonsall and Vista of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered together at 9 a.m. at the Vista Stake Center to participate in a day-long activity which would culminate in producing and performing vignettes. Live Oak Park was the venue for the first annual Pop Warner Family Fun Day. The event was an opportunity for families to get together and enjoy the park as well as meet teammates, coaches and others in the Pop Warner organization. Kids enjoyed cooling off on a water slide brought in by Rick Livingston, the new equipment manager for Pop Warner. And at this season it has brought us some wonderful flowering trees known as Lagerstroemia (pronounced “lah-ger-STRO-mee-uh”).
