    Fallbrook High School junior Hailey Drew was named the Warriors’ softball team Most Valuable Player during the team’s post-season banquet June 3 at the San Luis Rey Downs Country Club. “She had a great year offensively and defensively and was a big contributor to our team, and it was well deserved,” said co-coach Patti Drew.     FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce has opened registration for its annual Charity Golf Tournament at San Luis Rey Downs on Fri., Sept. 27. A portion of the overall proceeds benefits the Fallbrook Land Conservancy and Putting Contest proceeds benefit the Fallbrook Band Boosters.     FALLBROOK - Fallbrook Music Society’s board of directors recently announced the appointment of Ann W. Murray as its new executive director, who will head the 36-year old organization. Her appointment is the culmination of a search to fill the position vacated by Dr. Brenda Montiel, who served the organization for more than 15 years.   • MWD approves SDG&E easement on Red Mountain

    The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California granted a permanent easement to San Diego Gas & Electric on a Red Mountain property owned by MWD. The MWD board’s August 20 vote granted the easement to SDG&E for the appraised value of $115 plus $2,385 of processing costs. The MWD board also found the easement transaction to be categorically exempt from California Environmental Quality Act review.
