    SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose today for the 12th consecutive day increasing 1.2 cents to $5.381. The average price has increased 15.9 cents over the past 12 days, including 2.1 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 10.6 cents more than one week ago, 2.3 cents more than one month ago, and $1.034 higher than one year ago. The average price is $1.016 less than the record $6.373 set June 15. It... Full story

  • Fire shuts down SR 76

    North County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a vegetation fire in the area of State Route 76 and East Vista Way, today, 9/8/22 at 11:16 am. The fire was on the Bonsall/Vista border. "This fire was burning on the north side of the 76 in the riverbed. Fire grew to approximately 2 acres in size.     Joe Naiman Village News Reporter Sandia Creek Ranch rescued seven “Spanish Barb Horses.” Turns out, they may be Pre-Spanish Barbs called Berbers that are considered critically endangered by the Equus Survival Trust. The horses native to Spain were often interbred, and the quest for a “pure Spanish horse” now centers on the highly bred horses the Spanish explorers took to the Western Hemisphere and the descendants of those Spanish horses who ended up in the wild.
