    A Bonsall vegetation fire was reported today at 11:39 am. "Initially it was a smoke check and then multiple calls started coming in that there was smoke coming from the riverbed area and there was an actual fire starting and flames could be seen," said NCFPD PIO John Choi. The forward rate of spread was stopped at 12:12 pm. The location was Old River Rd and Dentro de Lomas area with a medium to heavy fuel load and the fire was one acre in size.   • Fireworks suspected in vegetation fire

    A vegetation fire, suspected to be started by fireworks, was held to a 20' x 20' spot at 472 W. Aviation Rd. early this morning at 1:03 am. "A hot smoking fireworks canister was found with a lighter on the scene," according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. "It is being dusted for fingerprints."     UPDATE: A resident reported that LtCol. J.P. Norman was driving back from church and saw the fire. He ran into the flames, helped the woman out of the house, and then put out the fire with a fire extinguisher before the North County Fire arrived.     UPDATE: The two-story commercial fire at 616 E. Alvarado is fully contained and and limited to half of the building according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. The commercial fire was called in at 4:05 am.
