We have known Al Gebhart for 15 years and encourage you to join us in giving him your vote for the FPUD Board Seat #2. During his time as a board member, residents in Fallbrook have consistently benefited from his approach to keeping rates on water and sewer as low as possible while still maintaining high water quality and service. Al Gebhart is running for re-election in order to continue his careful consideration of the proposed merger with the Rainbow Water District and strict monitoring of the sale of reclaimed sewer rela...
Through the ages, holy men made up dozens of gods. Temples were built for them, priests extolled their virtues and powers through myth and speculation. People prayed, adored, and feared those gods. Then as now, many priests, politicians, and the religious would impose their gods on everyone. But there were always doubters. Now, at the Democratic Convention, the vote to include God in the platform was about 50-50. Secularists came out of the closet. For me, the universe is, always has been, and always will be, and the idea...

I wish to thank the North County Fire Protection District and their supporters for orchestrating a wonderful 9/11 Memorial at the fire district station on Ivy St. It was much smaller and more intimate than last year’s extravaganza, but just as poignant. I must confess that I am disappointed in both of our communities for the lack of turn out. I bet we only had 50 locals attend, max. Understanding that there was virtually no advertisement prior to the event, one would have hoped that by the simple virtue of the significance o...
Post no signs: drive around and take a look. Throughout Fallbrook, signs are pinned, nailed and taped to stop signs, lampposts, telephone poles, and trees. Some are old, torn, faded; unreadable. You see ‘yard sale,’ ‘moving sale,’ ‘apartment for rent,’ ‘lost dog;’ it just trashes our village. You are not allowed to put a sign anywhere on a telephone pole that can be used as your personal billboard. California Penal Code section 556.1 says: “It is a misdemeanor for any person to place or maintain or cause to be placed or main...
Our convention is over, but the battle for truth must continue. Proof beyond doubt we have the strongest group of real Americans heading to offset the destruction heaped on this nation the past near four years. President Obama has the Chicago offices beamed to deny truth that only the likes of Illinois politics can do; but Gov. Brown is close behind. May they both ride off one way on a bullet train! All the speakers were superb in their description of their own lives, dreams, and genuine hope for free America. This time,...
