Unlike the past two years the Professional Bull Riders competition in Pala will not take place in May. This year’s Oct. 6 to 7 date was a factor of the calendar and stock availability. The Fallbrook High School Rugby Club girls team won the first-ever USA Sevens Girls High School Rugby Challenge on June 3 in Pennsylvania, three weeks after winning USA Rugby’s national high school championship tournament held at Stanford University. Longtime Fallbrook resident Shirley Lenfers passed away Sept.19, 2012. She was born in St. Paul, Minn. on Aug 19, 1920. She graduated from Oceanside High School in 1938 after which she moved to Fallbrook with her first husband William Blacklidge. In 1945 she married Art Lenfers and they were together for 58 years. C. Ray Williamson passed from this life to be with the Lord on Sept. 21, 2012. Ray was born on Jan. 15, 1954 in Plainview, Texas. He is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Justin and Danielle Williamson, and Jadon Williamson; his parents; and two brothers.
