  • Re: "Entitlement mentality 7.0" [Letter, Village News, 9/27/12]

    Updated Oct 4, 2012

Apparently Lee Racey forgot to read his letter (September 27) before submitting it. Specifically, the President of the United States is not the head of the Democratic Party: Antonio Villaraigosa is. Neither President Obama nor Villaraigosa is a socialist, but both are progressive (which I prefer) rather than being regressive. Racey opines that Greg Millard should do some research to avoid becoming a “dupe.” Racey should have taken his own advice and do some research before labeling President Obama a socialist. Earlier, Rick P...

  • A Few of Our Favorite Things

    Updated Oct 4, 2012

After 13+ years in historic downtown Fallbrook, we are closing our doors. We have enjoyed the opportunity to have been a part of the heartbeat of Fallbrook. We have met many people we would not have along the way. We have laughed, been sad, and hugged many of you. We will truly miss you. Although the store will be closing, we will remain a part of the Fallbrook community just as we have for the past 35 years. We hope our paths will cross again perhaps in the grocery store, a restaurant, doctor’s office, or some other p...

  • Film club schedule correction

    Updated Oct 4, 2012

I’d like to make a correction to an article I previously submitted to the Village News regarding the film showing of the North County Film Club. I mistakenly wrote that the club would be showing the Oscar-nominated Animated Short Subject films. These will actually be shown on Nov. 4. The film being shown on Oct. 7 is the Iranian film “A Separation,” the Oscar-winning best foreign film of 2011. I urge everyone who loves independent and foreign films to come to the Ultra Star Cinema in Oceanside to see this award-winning film.... Full story
