    RIVERSIDE - Home sales in Riverside County dropped by 11.6 percent in September, compared to the same month a year ago, while prices rose by 11.3 percent, a real estate information service announced today. A total of 2,920 homes changed hands in Riverside County last month, compared to 3,303 in September 2011, according to DataQuick. The median price of a home in Riverside County in September was $212,500, up from $191,000 in September 2011.     CORONA - A man dubbed the ''Desperate Bandit'' and suspected in seven bank hold-ups throughout Southern California -- including one in Corona -- remained at large today. The FBI was hoping somebody might be able to identify the suspect, whose robbery spree began in early August.     Late last week a Fallbrook man pled guilty in court to shooting a neighbor's dog, which led to the canine having to endure the amputation of a leg. According to Kelli Herwehe of the San Diego Humane Society, Michael O'Brien pled guilty to a felony charge of animal abuse (597 (a)) relating to an incident that occurred in April of this year during which he shot his neighbor's nine-month-old Siberian Husky named Gunner in the leg.     SAGE - A search was under way today for suspects who allegedly tied up and robbed a man at his Sage home while posing as law enforcement officers.
