FALLBROOK – One of Fallbrook’s most anticipated concerts, the Jan and Dean Show scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Mission Theatre has been cancelled. ccording to theatre manager Jennifer Hornsveld, “The cancellation was beyond our control and the show will not be rescheduled. Fallbrook High School’s girls volleyball team lost its first two Avocado West League matches but evened its league record at 2-2 with wins Oct. 9 at home against Carlsbad and Oct. 11 at Vista. Four Fallbrook High School boys earned medals for being among the top 40 finishers in their race at the Jaguar Invitational cross-country meet Oct. 19 at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. Connor Froboese finished 18th in the varsity race while Alex Mendoza placed 37th in that race. During the October 2007 fires, the towns of Fallbrook and Ramona were ordered evacuated. Residents of both communities experienced waits of hours due to heavy traffic on the only open road out of town. On Oct. 9, 2012, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement which will provide for an alternative emergency evacuation route in Ramona. George D. Conklin, 97, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at his home in Coquille, Ore. of heart complications. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine. He is survived by his two daughters, Georgia Robb of Coquille, Ore. and Carol Markano of Fallbrook, Calif.; grandchildren Brett, Delaine, Nancy and John; and nine great-grandchildren. Kathryn (Kay) Plummer Geddes died peacefully Oct. 14, 2012, at the age of 90, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 30, 1922 to John and Mollie Plummer, after whom Plummer Street in San Fernando Valley is named.
