Dorothy Roth’s hands tremble as she relates the horror of that day in 2002 when the Gavilan Fire consumed her home, her grove, her cats, dog — and almost her life. It’s the fury of that loss that drives Roth, who inarguably is the force who pushed the Fallbrook Fire Safe Council into being, and on September 30 stepped forward to honors as the council, with its ten members, was named a co-winner of the “Outstanding Fire Safe Council of the Year.” One-third of the 55 fire safe councils countywide were nominated by their fir...

Present California law does not require parental notification before a minor daughter undergoes an abortion. Contrast this with not only parental notification but parental consent being required for the daughter to get a flu shot or have her ears pierced. Which medical procedure is the riskiest? Who benefits from this conspiracy of silence when it comes to abortion? The abortionist and the male sexual partner each have a vested interest in keeping the parent in the dark. The abortionist makes a living off his grizzle trade;... Full story
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA) has overstepped its bounds with Proposition A language. It’s the role of the Base Realignment and Closure Committee to enter into discussions to diminish or enhance a military base. National experts, with the resources to determine national security needs, have provided a military site at Miramar for years. Determining strategic locations and military assets needed for national security is not something that I would entrust to the SDCRAA. Studies to evaluate p... Full story
During the six years that Issa has been in congress, gangs on both sides of our Southern border have increased the flow of drugs and criminality. Now, with election time coming up, Issa has noticed. Hospitals, schools and other institutions are stressed. It is no longer feasible to put up with election-time grandstanding with no funding whatsoever to back it up. This Congress has raised its own salaries but ignored our looming medical crisis. The biggest cause of bankruptcies is medical costs. Ten million of our children...

Please, someone edu... Full story
