The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District’s (FUESD) board of trustees and the superintendent’s staff has taken strides to invest more of the district’s dollars in the education of its teaching staff, which will prepare them to better teach students, said Superintendent Candy Singh. Mark L. Lipham, born on June 22, 1957, passed away on October 16, 2011. Mark’s life touched so many of us. He was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and had the privilege, along with his wife Rocky, of attending the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead for Missionaries. The Fallbrook Food Pantry has begun preparations for one of its most important fundraisers of the year, the Thanksgiving Walk/Run to Feed the Hungry, scheduled for November 19. In 2006 the local food pantry started the tradition of asking community members to walk or run together, and find sponsors who donate money to support them, in an effort to raise funds to provide food for the needy in the greater Fallbrook area. My morning exercise routine takes me past Fallbrook High School on Winterhaven and I am saddened by the amount of trash left along the sidewalk by students. This is along the side where students park their cars. I suggest that the school administration address this with all students to organize a on- time trash pick up and to refrain from littering.
