    Jack Ragland, an accomplished artist residing in Fallbrook, has been selected as one of 10 finalists in the Kirkland’s Home Next Great American Artist Contest. Ragland’s oil painting, “Il Castello Bella Collina,” was selected from the nearly 3,500 entries Kirkland’s Home received from artists across the country, including 78 from California.   • Reche Club hosts Chicken Pot Pie Dinner

    The Reche Community Club hosted a Chicken Pot Pie Dinner on Saturday, October 28. Dinner was well received and many fine people were served the club’s famous dinner. Three hundred tickets were sold and no one had to wait long to be seated. The Community Pride group of Fallbrook 4-H served the dinners to the seated guests as they visited and enjoyed the 1896 schoolhouse where community children were educated from 1896 until 1939 when the school was united with West Fallbrook School.... Full story

  • FVCC donates to Scout Troop 731

    The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club (FVCC) recently presented Boy Scout Troop 731 with a monetary donation. Sponsored by St. Peter’s Church, Troop 731 has been established in Fallbrook for about eight years. Currently there are about 20 scouts involved. The troop has helped many scouts attain Eagle Scout in the past and the newest member, Alex Young, received his Eagle Scout ranking on November 4.     Chad Lansberry completed the 2006 Barona Speedway season with a third-place finish in the 600 cc Modified Midget standings.
