RIVERSIDE - Foreclosure sales in Riverside County picked up last month, dovetailing with a statewide trend, a real estate tracking firm reported today. Bay Area-based ForeclosureRadar.com's monthly ''Foreclosure Report'' showed a total 1,020 repossessed properties were sold countywide in October, compared to 864 in September, about an 18 percent increase. RIVERSIDE - A Nov. 19 trial date was confirmed today for a Corona police officer accused of failing to tell her superiors about allegations that a 13-year-old boy was being physically and mentally abused. Cpl. Margaret Bell, 43, could face jail time and fines if convicted of a misdemeanor count of failing to report evidence of child endangerment. RIVERSIDE - The narrow lead outgoing Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries held over Riverside County Supervisor Bob Buster in the race to represent the county's First District was still holding today. SAN DIEGO - Strong, gusty offshore winds coupled with very low humidity are creating an elevated risk of wildfire in San Diego County today according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
