    Updated Nov 27, 2013

Southern California’s huge urban population, which includes the growing cities of Temecula, San Marcos and Escondido, often tends to obscure the fact that the 75th Assembly District remains a thriving agricultural region of major national significance. According to data from the San Diego County Farm Bureau, San Diego County’s $5.1 billion agricultural economy ranks as the 12th largest in the United States, despite the fact that we have more small farms and part-time far...

  • There are special people in Fallbrook

    Updated Nov 27, 2013

Yes, the “Friendly Village” still exists. We personally were privileged to meet some special people in Fallbrook who clearly demonstrated that motto last Friday morning. While garage “sailing” this weekend, my wife and I purchased an extremely heavy workbench that required two strong men to load it onto our small truck. On the way home, the bench suddenly unloaded itself with a loud crash, on a hill, right in the middle of McDonald Rd. As we were franticly attempting to pull this traffic hazard to the side of the road, w...

(Medicare spends 5 percent on overhead). Americans love these provisions. If R...

  • Re: "We will not yield to attorney's tactics"

    Updated Nov 27, 2013

[Letter, Village News, 11-14-13] The Board of Trustees of the FUESD is calling my daughter immoral and dishonest. She was an honored and trusted employee for 18 ½ years with not one negative evaluation. The irony is that Elaine does not blame the school board. They only know what they are told. Yet, they slander her in a public forum. Re-read the letter-to-the-editor, they are the ones trying this in a public forum. Attendance would have made them aware of the lies and deceit that have been created, enough to make them...

  • November is National Hospice & Palliative Care Month

    Updated Nov 27, 2013

It is estimated that 1.5 to 1.6 million patients in the United States received hospice or palliative care services in 2012. Considering that 90 percent of American adults live with a chronic illness before they die, this is an important issue. While some manage well on their own with minimal assistance from healthcare professionals... Full story
