Heaven gained an Angel on November 13, 2014: James Jameson’s wife of 63 years, Jim and Nancy’s mom, Darin’s second mom, and Christian and Caitlyn’s grandma, Diane Joyce Jameson. She had a gentle, yet fierce heart. She adored her husband and loved reminiscing about their many adventures; talking about how they explored mountain tops, canyons, and oceans brought out the light in her beautiful eyes. Her love for her children and grandchildren knew no boundaries. Diane put others first, as simple as that. She was an artist...

Fallbrook High School’s wrestling team has a home dual meet today (Thurs., Dec. 4) against Guajome Park Academy and the Warrior wrestlers began practice November 15, but perhaps the team’s most important starting activity this season was the November 19 ribbon-cutting of the new wrestling room at the high school. FALLBROOK – With the holiday season beginning, many people say it begins the most stressful time of year for them. Families will be together, in the pressure-cooker of close quarters, and while the proximity has the intended goal of a renewed sense of connection, it unfortunately often ends up with the question of why some put themselves through the ringer year after year. Dr. Joanne Barge, a licensed psychologist based in Los Angeles, has some tips on how families can b...

I am writing this note to ask for the community’s help. For over ten years, Fallbrook citizens have been debating a skate park, then an Avocado Bowl (a park with skate-able elements), and a skate park at Ingold Field. None have come to fruition. If our community does not provide access to an area for this healthy form of exercise, then the community is the skatepark. I am asking the community’s help in designating an area to skate that will not get these talented athletes kicked out. This would be a place where they can ska...
Judy Willis challenged me to show where in the Constitution is it stated that starting and operating a business is a privilege granted by the government. It should be obvious that our Constitution isn’t written at that level of detail. Rather, it is embodied in the federal and state codes that devolve from our Constitution. The federal code is primarily at the level of interstate commerce and international trade. Specific businesses and professions are addressed at the state and local levels. For example, see the v... Hopefully, by raising awareness through articles like yours and continued research we will someday discover a cure for this dreaded disease. Helen Tillotson...
I believe the friendly village of Fallbrook is so fortunate to have a concert hall the quality of the Bob Burton auditorium. It is further blessed to have an organization, the Fallbrook Music Society, that not only books concerts with the likes of the Redland’s Symphony, but also makes this music available to the children in the Fallbrook school district. The concert on November 23 was truly outstanding and the closing opus, “Mozart’s 41st Symphony,” got such a marvelous interpretation that very, very few, if any, concert-goe...
