Thank you, Fallbrook, for walking, running and providing funds to help the less fortunate at this special time of year. The eighth annual 5K Thanksgiving Walk/Run took place on a very cool, dry and comfortable day. The music and excitement at the food pantry before the walk and the camaraderie of participants afterwards, along with the tasty refreshments added to the joy. So many people helped to make this a successful event! Church congregations, school clubs and athletic groups came out to help; honorary mayor Martin...
In Issaquah, WA, I received the Nov. 21 issue of the Village News newspaper along with the Holiday edition of the Lifestyle magazine. Congratulations regarding the most beautiful front and back cover pages of the magazine. Just looking at the brilliant colors and the whole composite of these pages was astounding. As I read through the magazine, I enjoyed all the articles, the pictures with each article, the delicious recipes and the fabulous pictures of the food presentations within the Dining Guide. I believe that all of... Full story
Obama is trying to negotiate a pause in Iran’s nuclear build up until he can use it to control the 2016 elections. He is willing to sacrifice the lives of our children by making peace with a nation of Islamic pedophiles and liars, for the sake of his racist administration. Drawing a parallel to the Carter/Reagan transition with the hostages, there were similar tensions existing at that time. The difference being a godly man in the White House who had his moments, nobody is perfect. Reagan referred to a “thorn” in his admin... Full story
Perhaps Obamacare will be popular... eventually. Both Medicare and Social Security had many detractors in their early days but are now regarded as successful. I agree with Mr. Monday that there are elements of Obamacare which, taken one at a time, are very popular. At this juncture, there are two major problems that are poisoning the rollout of Obamacare: (1) because of bureaucratic mismanagement, it was put into operation way before it was ready or adequately tested, resulting in only 10 percent of the expected enrollment,... I just read the letter from Jon Monday and glad to know that I’m not the only Democrat in Fallbrook! I’m from the UK, where there is excellent health care and it’s free for everyone. It is way past time for the Republican Party members to stop saying “no” to everything that Obama tries to put through for our benefit. I might add that our new Pope Francis does not believe in “Trickle Down” either and he is a humble man of the people. Peggy Cannon Callahan...
Adopt a needy family through the Fallbrook Food Pantry! This will be the third year that my husband and I have had the blessing of bringing some smiles and easing a burden for some little ones and their parents. This year, our Bible study group has joined in! We get to deliver the gifts and food directly to the family. They are so grateful and sweet, it melts your heart and God’s love just fills you. Our experience has been so humbling and rewarding that we would like to encourage others to do the same. Nancy M...

The gluten-free diet was once largely exclusive to sufferers of Celiac disease, a condition that damages the lining of the small intestine, preventing it from absorbing parts of food the body needs to stay healthy. That damage is the byproduct of the body’s reaction to gluten, a term used to describe proteins found in specific grains. But while the glut...
