  • Pie money given to Fallbrook Food Pantry

    FALLBROOK — A group of women and youth recently made pies that sold for a total of $363, which was given to the Fallbrook Pantry to purchase items for local babies. This group of Fallbrook United Methodist Church peeled 98 pounds of apples; used 50 pounds of sugar, 31 pounds of canned pumpkin and three cups of cinnamon; and cracked 136 eggs to bake the pies. It is a combination of San Diego and Seattle and it came together in a cozy house at the corner of Fallbrook Street and Mission Road.     During a tea held at the Café de Artistes, Co-President Sandy Grossman reported that the Fallbrook Branch of the California Retired Teachers Association is happy to grant $200 to seven recipients this year. The group hopes to increase that amount in the future.
