  • Downsizing your home can be a smart move

    Updated Dec 23, 2010

When you’ve lived in the same house for many years and it’s becoming too much to reasonably care for, and the expenses just seem to keep growing, it may be time to consider downsizing your home. While no one likes the idea of packing up and leaving a place they have made their personal castle for a long time, if you are an older-and-wiser member of the population, it makes sense to make this decision and carry through with it while you are still capable of overseeing and supervising the process yourself. One of the biggest re...

“Zeal without knowledge is not good; a person who moves too quickly may go the wrong way.” -Proverbs 19:2 NLT People under pressure often respond to a circumstance in different ways depending on their personalities, habits, and situations. Some people under pressure will make quick decisions feeling that they must do something, and if necessary, fix it later. Others when under pressure may feel that it is time to slow down and consider things before they act, taking this to the extreme of freezing up and doing nothing. Regard...

“Personalized Christmas Ornaments” is what the sign read inside the trinket store. Excited about buying a personalized gift for her sister, my friend Jill browsed until she found just the right one and proceeded to the counter where the “artist” was waiting. “Can you personalize this ornament for me?” Jill asked with a smile. The lady looked at the ornament and replied, “Well that depends on how much you want written on it. What do you want it to say?” “I want it to say… Welcome to your first Christmas!” Jill re... Full story

  • Learning about the past prepares us for the future

    Updated Dec 23, 2010

Think of the suspense, the survival, internal conflicts, external conflicts, the sounds, and the emotions absorbed into the greatest stories about war.
