The Fallbrook High girls’ field hockey team faced the Hilltop Lancers on September 23. The Warrior defense performed on a high level as usual. On September 12, the Fallbrook girls’ varsity field hockey team played their first home game of the season against the Poway Titans. Outstanding defenses kept the match scoreless through two 30-minute halves and a 10-minute overtime to send the game into penalty strokes. Fallbrook High School’s gymnastics team placed second at the Avocado League meet May 6. The Warriors accumulated 194.675 points, finishing behind the 213.4-point total of league champion Mount Carmel. In 2007 the Fallbrook High School girls gymnastics team won two dual meets, which was two more than the Warriors won in 2006, while losing five. Fallbrook’s 2008 gymnastics team reversed that dual meet record, winning five and losing two. The 2008 gymnasts won their third dual meet of the year on April 16 at Fallbrook High School, and more importantly the Warriors defeated defending CIF champion Torrey Pines in that meet. They recently traveled to Kit Carson Park for two consecutive weekends to participate in the North County Tournament. CONWARY, AR — The Hendrix College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the commitment of Fallbrook resident Savannah Saunders to its inaugural women’s field hockey team. During her time at Fallbrook High School, Saunders earned eight total letters, four in field hockey and four in lacrosse. In 2005, she was named MVP of the Lady Warriors squad. Fallbrook High School’s girls volleyball team won the San Diego Fall Classic tournament played September 8-9 at the Epic Volleyball Center in Poway. The Warriors won all seven of their matches, including a win over Santa Fe Christian in the tournament finals.
