Well, now we know. All the rush, the unanswered questions, the fear, while hundreds of thousands of people with adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines and thousands of deaths are all but ignored, according to numerous published reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Even young people who did their patriotic part in the trials and are now damaged for life have been pushed aside and forgotten by the drug companies they volunteered to give their bodies to.... Realtors who never answer their phone but will respond immediately to a text Personal contact is in short supply these days. Customer service has become a phone tree with more limbs than I care to count. You can get lost in that tangle of limbs. In real estate, however, buying a home or selling a home is a very personal experience. So, when a listing agent does not answer their phone, but will immediately respond to a text, that just rubs me the wrong way. The simple courtesy... Full story
Assemblymember Marie Waldron AD-75 Mobs of people have been raiding department stores and walking out with thousands of dollars in stolen goods. In some cases, up to 90 people have stormed into stores at one time, and thefts have not been confined to department stores. Union-Pacific freight trains entering Los Angeles are being systematically looted. In October 2021, the railroad reported a 356% increase in thefts over the previous year. Union-Pacific is reportedly considering bypassing Los Angeles, its major hub on the West... Full story
With all the horrible headline issues and topics to have an opinion about, Mr. Terrell chose to ignore the brilliant letters written by Max Myers and Dave Maynard to do a fluff piece that belongs in the Health & Beauty section if our newspaper had one. He stated, "Nothing worthy of my rebuttal." It's really hard to rebut the truth when the left lies, twists and manipulates like they always do with every issue. While the water flosser is a remake of the water pic and is a wonderful tool to keep your teeth healthy, I wonder... Full story
I am writing this on Jan. 17, Martin Luther King Day. I am reminded today of all the changes I have seen over the years. I was in high school in the 60’s and was barely aware of the civil rights movement. By the time I got to graduate school in the late 80’s, the professors at my college said there is more work to be done about not only racism but other social issues. It turned out that I became a teacher trainer for early childhood educators. At my college, Pacific Oaks, we were trained in Anti-Bias Curriculum. Our professor... Full story
My name is Stacy and I am a retired professor in Fallbrook. The Freedom to Vote Act sets national standards for us to safely and freely cast our ballots, ensure every vote is counted, and elect people who will deliver for us. Our Senators need to deliver the Freedom to Vote Act to the American people, and to do that, they need to fix the Jim Crow filibuster which is blocking progress of this overwhelmingly popular and urgently needed legislation. The freedom to vote is under attack by extremist state lawmakers across the... Full story
Supervisor Jim Desmond 5th District Last week, I shared what my office has been doing when it comes to public safety. To summarize, we’ve increased our services to ensure North County remains a safe place for everyone. This week, I wanted to share another topic that I will be focused on for 2022. We must find a solution to move nuclear waste at San Onofre. It is critical for our community, our state, and our country to find a solution for spent nuclear fuel. While the spent fuel at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station i...
You may recall I mentioned a recent trip to Texas in a previous column. No? Well, it really doesn’t matter either way, I was just looking for a transition from that column to this one. Here is what happened while I was in Austin. I had an allergy attack and both eyes started itching. Crazy itchy. Lucky for me I was with my bridge partner who was staying with his friends and before we left for a Tex-Mex dinner, I asked our hostess if she could provide me with some eye m... Full story
An experienced, professional Realtor is all the above. The problem is that most Realtors don't know how to own those roles. They may have a cursory understanding of the contracts, and if they don’t, they have a broker (hopefully) to help them with the documents. But the details of a successful transaction rests with the ability of the Realtor to be effective in all three of the above roles. The fourth quarter has shown me how crucial proficiency in these roles is to c... Full story
Assemblymember Marie Waldron AD-75 Last week the Assembly Health Committee reviewed, and passed, AB 1400, which would mandate government-run healthcare for almost 40 million Californians. Are you on Medicare? You won’t be. Do you like your current health plan? Say goodbye to it. Do you want to pay higher taxes, for less care? You’re in luck. AB 1400 creates an unelected 9-member board to run state healthcare with vast power to decide how much doctors and hospitals are paid, to adjust (cut) provider budgets, and much mor... Full story
State Senator Brian Jones District 38 For too long communities across my district have had to worry about the state sneaking around trying to release or parole dangerous sexually violent predators in unsuspecting neighborhoods. Last year, families in Mt. Helix, Ranchita, Borrego Springs, and Rancho Bernardo were jolted by the state’s attempt to put not just one but in some cases two Sexually Violent Predators in their communities. The recent proposed placements of Sexually Violent Predators Douglas Badger and Merle W... Full story
Supervisor Jim Desmond 5th District It's been a difficult past two years, filled with unspeakable tragedies. It has served as a stark reminder that life is precious, that we should spend as much time as we can with our friends and family, and that we should be kind to one another. With 2021 in the rearview mirror, it's time to look forward and come together! While we know there are difficulties that lie ahead, I'm excited for what the future has in store and look forward to 2022! Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some... Full story
Children's Health Defense Team In late October and early November, the self-serving members of two committees advising the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention without a second thought endorsed experimental COVID vaccines for children as young as 5 years old. Ignoring the 99.995% COVID survival rate for those age 17 and under, the 31 pharma-servile “experts” also appeared unconcerned by reams of damning data about COVID-vaccine-related disabilities and fatalities already occ...
There was nothing worthy of my rebuttal last week. I'm glad, because I've been waiting to present the following: There are a lot of things I have negative feelings about, but here are two things I’m really positive about: water flossers and electric toothbrushes, based on my more than 20 years’ experience with them. While my dentist recommended the electric toothbrush to me, I discovered the water flosser on my own. I don’t know why people aren’t shouting it from the rooftops: water flossers do what no toothbrush or piece of... Full story

Dear Colonel Richard Munn, I am writing you because of your deeply disturbing publication entitled the "Study Guide on Racism." The premise of your fallacious paper implies that the ghosts from the aftermath of the Civil War are back burning crosses on front lawns across America, and the lynching of Blacks by former Democrat Party brigades has risen its ugly head once again. It's as if Biden's preference for segregated schools and the Democrats' past penchant for enforcing "White Only" drinking fountains and restaurants are... Full story
Great job of describing the total debasement of the Fourth Estate! It should be no mystery that anyone engaged in civics and social trends and news would be losing interest in what was the traditional mainstream media. Since the Progressive Movement took over our educational system, most of the people in that line of work think their job is to change the world, not to report it. So the truth has to be found somewhere else. Rick Elkin... Full story
Julie Reeder Publisher This week I’ve been reminded of one of the things that makes the newspaper important. It offers people hope. A person called us who believes a senior is being taken advantage of in our community by a younger person who has moved in, is dangerous, and is keeping the senior from their regular caregiver, friends, health care etc. This lady had called the authorities, which in this case was Oceanside Police, and the county with no apparent resolution. After getting her story we were able to assist by c... Full story
Assemblymember Marie Waldron AD-75 One of the main responsibilities of the State Legislature is producing a budget by the June 15th constitutional deadline that funds programs and, hopefully, makes smart investments in California’s future. Unfortunately, while we meet the deadline, expectations often fall short. Skewed priorities in past budgets have allowed problems to fester; many are now reaching the crisis stage. The Legislature re-convened for the second half of the 2021-2022 session Jan. 3. Due to the magnitude of t... Full story
First John, you write opinions that you indicate are facts. For abortion, none of your opinions are relevant to the actual facts: For instance, refer to Amendment 10: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Explanation: Powers that aren’t the Federal government’s are the States’, or the people’s that live in that State. Nothing and I mean nothing in the Constitution gives federal power on abortio... Supervisor Jim Desmond 5th District When COVID-19 first came upon our radars in March 2019, we didn’t know what the outcome would be. We didn’t know who the virus would affect; we didn’t know what the toll would be on society. As an airline captain for over 33 years, I relied on data to safely get my passengers to their destination (I’ll admit, as an engineer, I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to numbers.) Every day, at the beginning of the pandemic, I would sit in my office and look at the county data. It became clear to... Full story
After reading about a few incidents of lost or missing seniors who have dementia or Alzheimer's, I would like to make mention that there are several GPS tracking devices available on the market. A simple placement of a watch, necklace, or a device that fits inside the shoes would help in finding the lost. Verizon and T-Mobile have added watches with GPS finders for a minimal monthly fee. Google GPS for dementia and you will find a host of items that are available. I would think our county sheriff's department would add this... Full story

Elizabeth Youngman-Westphal Special to The Village News Having just returned from a flight to Austin, Texas, I noticed many folks these days travel with their pets. That got me thinking that maybe it’s time we add one to our home. The hiccup is what to get? My husband has always been a cat guy. But growing up on the farm we mostly had dogs around the house although there were always plenty of barn cats. They are quite different from house cats. I found that out some years back when a feral Manx cat adopted us in Lodi. G... Full story
Last week I posted a video on my Facebook from Dr. Robert Malone who is the inventor of the MRNA technology and is himself vaccinated. In it, Malone gave a warning to parents that the vaccine is not a good idea for children, but Facebook decided it was a message that needed to be censored. Here is a doctor, a scientist and an inventor. He was on the front lines and he was censored by the fact checkers at Facebook who I doubt are doctors or scientists. The Centers for Disease...
