As a former screenwriter, I can attest that studios have paid me large sums of money for stories half as good as this. Bonsall High, now in its 10th year, is a tiny upstart of a school. It was conceived out of a grassroots effort of dedicated PTA moms who wanted their kids to continue the small community feeling their kids enjoyed at Bonsall Elementary, Bonsall West Elementary, Vivian Banks Charter and Sullivan Middle in high school. These parents had an uphill battle on...
Under the new leadership of Coach Bernard Cantrell, the Bonsall High School boys basketball team advanced to the CIF semifinals. After a rocky start, the basketball team seemed to find a rhythm late in the season. The team won their last three games to advance to the CIF playoffs. The team started the quarterfinal round, played at the Jim Banks Sports Center on Feb. 17, cold. In the first period, the opponents dropped every three point shot from the outside and Bonsall had no...

Bonsall High School's boys soccer team didn't mathematically clinch the Pioneer League championship with the Legionnaires' Monday, Jan. 29, victory against River Valley. The 5-0 road win, however, assured that the Snow Leopards could not surpass Bonsall in the standings and that The O'Farrell Charter School could win the league championship. That is, they could win only if the Falcons won all three of their remaining league games and Bonsall lost both remaining contests...

The CIF San Diego Section’s Board of Managers revised the playoff structure for boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse. A unanimous vote Wednesday, Jan. 17, reduced the number of Open Division teams in the playoffs from eight to six. That will result in two fewer teams in the combined Open Division and Division I playoffs, but the Division III playoffs will be expanded from 12 to 16 teams so two additional boys teams and two additional girls teams will qualify for the postseason. “I think it will result in closer games,” Todd...
