Sullivan Middle School won the North County Flag Football League championship Nov. 20 with a triple-overtime victory over Valley Center Middle School. Vallecitos School hosted the six-school Vallecitos Soccer Tournament Nov. 20, which included a third-place finish for the Vallecitos boys team and a fifth-place result for the Vallecitos girls squad. “I think it went pretty well, and a good time was had by all basically,” said Ray Hanbeck, who organized the tournament and also coached the Vallecitos boys. Rick Abood concluded his Marine Corps career at Camp Pendleton after his tour of duty in Vietnam. Bill Porter began his Marine Corps stint with three years at Camp Pendleton before being one of the first Marines to be sent to Vietnam. In the San Diego Sockers’ first-ever Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) game Nov. 1, Fallbrook’s Chris Toth was the winning goaltender.
