Hongs celebrate 62nd anniversary

Jim and Nellie Hong recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary with family and friends in Fallbrook. The Hongs were married on Dec. 28, 1942, in San Francisco. They have four children: Michael Hong, Pacific Palisades; Jerry Hong, Thousand Oaks; Shannon Morten, Venice; and Jeffery Hong, North Ridge. They also have four grandchildren. The Hongs have lived in Fallbrook for 28 years.

Jim Hong is the author of two books: “Man Was Not Made to Fly” and “Go East to Gold Mountain.” In his second book, Jim Hong deals with the Westward Movement in the US with the California Gold Rush and the Chinese coming east for a future.

Jim Hong worked for Lockheed Aircraft for 33 years and was Chief Design Engineer. After retirement he worked as a consultant for various companies in the aeronautical and engineering industries. Nellie Hong has been a housewife and mother. The couple are very active members of Fallbrook United Methodist Church.
