Budget outlook grim for FUESD

Jim Whitlock, on Friday, said budget reductions anticipated for the 2005-2006 Fallbrook Union Elementary School District year beginning March 15 forces layoff of the part-time nurse added in the 2004-2005 year. Thirty-one staffing positions or services were also reduced or eliminated. Whitlock is the assistant superintendent in the Office of Employee/Employer Relations for the district. At its Monday, March 7, district board meeting, community representatives expected to speak on behalf of the part-time nurse were not present.
