Euthanasia is highly controversial

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read Ray Haynes’ column today, “Let’s kill all the old people.” While euthanasia is indeed legal in the Netherlands, his statement that “many of the aged and infirm will not go into a hospital out of fear that the doctors in those hospitals will order their deaths” is nothing short of malicious slander. The process must always be initiated by the patient and always involves counseling and review by an independent physician, psychologist, medical ethicist, and family.
