Can you help sponsor haircuts?

There are so many charities competing for our donations and there is no information on where that money goes. How much of the donated money actually goes to salaries and benefits for the managers?

I wanted to do something for our local Marines but I wanted to be sure that the money went directly to them, so I decided to buy them haircuts.

Since last December I have been buying haircuts for our local servicemen at Ed’s Barber Shop at Main and Beech. I give Ed $6 for each serviceman, which includes a $1 tip. So far, I have paid for 100 haircuts.

Now the Fallbrook Masonic Lodge has generously agreed to accept donations to keep this program alive. They will pass on to the barber 100 percent of the money that is donated. These donations are tax deductible.

The lowest price for a military haircut other than Ed’s Barber Shop is $7 — with a tip it’s $8. It is a great feeling to see all the names of these young men and women and to hear how grateful they are. Ed has each one sign a log and list his company. This book is available for anyone to see at the barbershop.

Tax deductible donations can be sent to Fallbrook Masonic Lodge, PO Box 165, Fallbrook, CA 92088.
