Fallbrook Alarm: knowledgeable team assists residents

George Parrish and his wife Nettie might be Fallbrook’s most knowledgeable security system alarm specialists. If enthusiasm, teamwork, expertise and dedication to community safety are the benchmarks, the Parrish duo and their employees at Fallbrook Alarm meet the criteria.

George designs their systems for customers and is also a security and alarm consultant. Nettie manages the office, sales and, most importantly for this local business, customer relations. “We monitor our systems 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Nettie says, “and if someone calls, our phones are answered by a person, not an answering machine.” Customers can call at any time for service or merely a question about their installation.

For 23 years, Fallbrook Alarm has served the security needs of greater Fallbrook. During that time they purchased Good Neighbor Alarm from local resident Bill Keller, promising him there would be no breaks in service for his longtime customers. To ensure their promise, they took over his phone number, which remains in service today.

The security service they provide is comprehensive and custom designed for each customer. It includes security and fire alarm protection for homes and businesses; medic alert systems for elderly or handicapped individuals living alone needing 24-hour monitoring for health needs; wireless hold-up “panic” button installations for emergency use by banks, restaurants and businesses with late-night safety needs; and closed-circuit camera surveillance networks. “We installed the closed-circuit camera system in Denny’s,” George says. Other customers include the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce, Hank’s Hardware, The Packing House, Sourdough Pizza, En Pico Restaurant, D.J.’s Feed & Pet Supply, Erickson & Erickson “and hundreds of others,” Nettie says. Ninety-nine percent of all installations include fire protection also. Fallbrook Alarm warning signs are also posted at each installation, indicating the business or home is protected against illegal entry.

Each installation is custom designed depending on the customer’s requirements. George Parrish not only designs each customer’s system, he’s a hands-on owner and is present at each installation. Fallbrook Alarm can pre-wire a home or business under construction or retrofit an existing structure.

The value of a security system goes beyond the obvious. “Home insurance companies offer discounts for monitored burglar and fire protection systems,” George says. Often the savings offset monitoring fees. System fees are set at a monthly flat rate for all residents; commercial rates are slightly higher.

As an introduction to their service, Fallbrook Alarm offers free monitoring up to July 1 for any customer of North County Fire Protection District and will test the customer’s entire system and re-program it at no charge. This offer is in response to the North County Fire Protection District decision to discontinue monitoring service as of that date.
