St. John's recipe for fun: mix avocados, cookbooks, volunteers and visitors

If I were you, I’d run, not walk, to the St. John’s Episcopal Church’s booth at the avocado festival and snap up their cookbooks at a bargain price.

“We did the cookbook a few years ago and it is peppered with lots of helpful hints to make cooking each recipe a little easer,” said Beth Goodlake, who, with her husband Dick, is co-chair for the church’s booth at the festival. As with many other community organizations that participate in the Avocado Festival, the people of St. John’s see the event as multi-dimensional.
