Suburban bursts into flames on I-15

FALLBROOK — Officer Tom Kerns of the California Highway Patrol reported that an accident that occurred on Sunday, May 8, at approximately 1:05 a.m. claimed the life of the driver of a 1986 Chevrolet Suburban whose vehicle became disabled on northbound Interstate 15, north of Rainbow Glen Road. Kerns reported that the Chevy was disabled in the number three lane on the freeway when it was struck from behind by Kazuko Nishina, 62, of Torrance.
