Fallbrook High art class tackles FPUD grease problem

FALLBROOK — Heather Groves went on a special field trip earlier this week. The next day, so did her Fallbrook High classmates Rebecca Gutierrez and James Toomey. The three art students traveled to Fallbrook Street School, along with Fallbrook Public Utility District staff, to help first-graders decorate cans for collecting kitchen grease.

These art students became passionate about the environmental dangers of pouring cooking grease down sinks after their art class at Fallbrook High was given the assignment to design a grease-catcher can.
