FALLBROOK — Members of the Fallbrook High School Interact Club visited the La Gloria Orphanage in San Antonio de las Buenos, Baja California, MX, on May 7. Interact is a social and service club for high school students. The FHS Interact Club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fallbrook, which guides the Interactors in developing international and local projects. The term “Interact” is derived from the words “international” and “action,” which reflect the nature of the organization that exists in over 110 countries, with 200,000 members in 8,600 clubs worldwide.
The local Interact Club sponsors the La Gloria Orphanage, along with many other schools and churches throughout Southern California, and works with Potter Junior High School coordinator Abel Mojica to provide food and money to the orphanage at Christmas and in the spring. The FHS Interactors are also active in the community, supporting the Fallbrook Christmas Parade, providing graffiti cleanup in the Village and assisting in decorating the Rotary International Christmas Float each year before the Rose Parade.
During this visit, Club Secretary Amy Hansen presented a check for $500 to the Rev. Fr Steve Ochoa, OSA administrator. The Interactors at Fallbrook High School are outstanding young men and women who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self,” says Dick Goodlake, the Rotary Club of Fallbrook Interact Coordinator.
