Wake up, Fallbrook! I’m confident that most of you have noticed that only a handful of star spangled banners flew over our central area on Memorial Day; only a few will fly on Flag Day June 14. Why? Because a handful of people decided to put up Fallbrook merchants’ banners on downtown lampposts without first thinking beyond tomorrow. Most of us would agree they are attractive; however, those responsible failed to realize that no banners may fly above our national symbol — the star spangled banner.
