SAN DIEGO — San Diego County Supervisors voted unanimously last week to support a request by Fifth District Supervisor Bill Horn, asking the Chief Administrative Officer to designate $550,000 in the budget to create a permanent base for the sheriff’s helicopter at the Fallbrook Community Airpark. The money would be used for one-time capital improvements and is in addition to appropriations of $3.5 million for the acquisition of a fire and life safety helicopter.
“North County needs a fire-fighting and rescue helicopter 24/7, and Fallbrook is the best place to have it,” said Supervisor Horn.
