In response to the letter written by Jacqueline Develle (8/25/05), I’d just like to comment. Long before there was a Camp Pendleton, there was a Fallbrook, a nice little town through which the “highway” went if you wanted to go from San Diego to Los Angeles by way of Riverside and the Inland Empire. Yes, right through Escondido, through Vista and through Fallbrook and Rainbow. No one asked if it would disturb anyone if a Marine Corps Base was established to the west.
