Fallbrook wins cribbage match

On August 25, the Fallbrook Senior Center Cribbage team bested the Oceanside Senior Center team in the August Senior Cribbage Challenge. Fallbrook had six out of the top eight players and coasted to an easy with in the match with 39 players. With four more wins and nine more skunks Fallbrook got back on the winning track after two straight losses.

Bill McGinness continued on a hot streak to take first place by winning six games with one skunk to edge Anne Flaherty, who also had six wins but was without a skunk.

They were followed by Barb Sacic, Clay Judd and Joe Fahey of the Fallbrook team, who all had five wins and a skunk. In sixth place was Carl Troupe of the Oceanside team, with Ed Wozniak and Luella Brotherton close on his tail.

Luella Brotherton of the winning Fallbrook team also won the $25 gift card donated by the Oceanside Wal-Mart at 78 and I-5.

On September 22 the next Senior Challenge Cribbage match will be held at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 E Vista Way, (760) 724-1968. Play begins at 12:30 p.m. If you enjoy cribbage, come and join in on the fun. The match consists of seven games.
