Phantom wins Reno Air Races

The Phantom, a biplane hangared at Fallbrook Community Airpark and co-owned by Fallbrook’s Tom Aberle, won the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada, September 13-18.

Aberle’s ownership partner, Andrew Buehler, flew The Phantom to the victory in both the second heat race and the Gold Race. “By the end of the event we figured out how to do things right,” Aberle said.

“We got some technical difficulties straightened out, and I got a little bit more comfortable in the airplane,” Buehler said.
