General fund balance will pay for TOT refunds; County approves outreach plan

The county’s general fund and not the Community Enhancement program funded by the Transient Occupancy Tax will be the source for refunds of Transient Occupancy Tax payments which had not been property authorized.

The 5-0 Board of Supervisors vote October 18 establishes $1 million from the 2004-05 general fund balance for a TOT refund account which will be maintained by the Office of the Treasurer-Tax Collector.
