RE: 'Party for young teen disgusts other parents'

I think there are two large questions that loom in the minds of some parents: “Why would the parents of children attending the party allow their children to go to the party?” and “Why didn’t the children who attended the party, after finding out what was really going on, call their parents to be picked up?”

Perhaps the “real” answer is too scary and threatening to embrace?

If parents do not parent: spend sufficient time to stay intimately involved in the lives of teenagers or allow teenagers to “self-direct” their own lives (i.e. watch sleazy TV shows like “Desperate Housewives,” hang out with...
